Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) stems from Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy developed by Albert Ellis in the 1950s and Cognitive Therapy developed by Aaron Beck in the 1960s. CBT focuses on the here and now by challenging and reframing unhelpful thoughts, expressing and processing emotional reactions, identifying and changing dysfunctional behaviors, and developing a variety of adaptive coping strategies that help people live healthier and happier lives.

The goal is to achieve psychological wellness in all aspects of life.
